Frequently Asked Questions
The school operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
To enroll your child, schedule a visit to the preschool classroom and meet with the Admissions Director. During this visit, your child can explore the classroom and join in activities. Upon enrollment and payment of initial fees, you'll receive guidelines, nutrition information, playground rules, permission forms, and health and immunization forms.
A record of immunizations and a physical examination within the past 12 months must be completed and on file by each child’s first day of attendance. This includes results of any screenings, prescribed medications, descriptions of any impairments, and current or chronic health conditions.
Parents must fill out and sign a medical permission form for staff to administer medication. The form must include the date, dosage, and time of administration as stated on the original bottle. For prescribed drugs, the doctor's prescription must be affixed to the medication. All medications must be locked up during school hours and taken home at the end of the day.
Children should be kept home if they are feverish, have diarrhea, are vomiting, have dark mucous nasal discharge, or show signs of becoming sick. This helps prevent contagion and promotes the health and safety of all children.
All teachers at The Sunrise School are trained in First Aid and CPR. If a child becomes ill during the school day, every effort will be made to make them comfortable, and a parent will be called to pick them up.
Hand washing is required immediately upon entering school in the morning, before and after eating, before and after water play, after working with Play Dough and other materials, after toileting, nose blowing, finger sucking, or touching contaminated objects and surfaces.
Teachers will observe new children to ensure they are developmentally ready to care for their toileting needs independently. If frequent accidents occur, teachers will work with parents to develop a plan to best meet the needs of the child.

Pets are not allowed on the campus of The Sunrise School.
Lost and found items are kept in the office for a limited time.
Occasionally, photos and stories of Sunrise School children may be used for school publications, the website, and social media. Parents are asked to sign a press/photo release form upon admission. If a parent chooses not to sign or later changes their mind, their child’s image will no longer be used in new materials.
The school aims to create a learning environment that nurtures children's social development and fosters imagination. The impact of technology and media is recognized, and content containing violence or negative social behaviors is discouraged.
Parents are encouraged to communicate directly with teachers or the Director if they have concerns. If a concern involves the broader school community, an appointment with the Director can be made. Written concerns can also be submitted, and the Director will help mediate if needed. A follow-up evaluation ensures that the chosen solution has resolved the conflict to mutual satisfaction.
