Sunrise School Annual Events

Class-Led Celebrations

Each month, individual classes lead a school-wide exploration of a world holiday or celebration, offering multi-age experiential learning, community building, and mindfulness.

Community Events

Monthly events are designed to build meaningful connections between families, staff, and children outside of the classroom.

Community Work Day

A day dedicated to community building and maintaining the school's physical environment, typically held in August.

Annual Fundraiser

An event to generate funds for field trips, equipment, and teacher-requested items, with active parent participation encouraged.

Dress Up Day

An annual costume parade and trick-or-treating event in the morning, where children, staff, and parents dress in costumes and enjoy non-sugar treats.

Winter Performance

Each class creates a song, dance, or short play guided by art and music teachers, culminating in a performance during the winter season.

Sunrise School Annual Events

Shine

A student talent show featuring singers, dancers, jugglers, magicians, musicians, comedians, and more, celebrating the diverse talents of our student community.

Grandparent's Day

A special day for grandparents and elders to join for coffee, tea, snacks, and enjoy class performances, usually involving a visit to the grandchild’s class.

May Day

Celebrated on May 1st with a festival including a maypole, fairy costumes, strawberries, and whipped cream to welcome spring.

Staff Appreciation

An annual event organized by the Parent Council to thank the staff for their dedication, featuring special gifts from each classroom.

Imagine!

An end-of-year arts-focused event with performances featuring singing, instruments, dancing, acting, poetry, and visual arts created by preschool children and visiting artists.

Graduation

Preschoolers perform a poem or song and receive certificates of achievement, followed by a picnic lunch to celebrate their accomplishments.
